October 21st & forward

I returned to the boat on the October 21st and with Gerald's help the batteries were removed and I cleaned under the battery cases and applied a layer of gel coat. I also looked for a way to run power from the new to be installed inverter to the power panel in the boat cabin. It took quite a while but [...]

September 14th to September 21st

We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

August 27th to September 13th

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. Shopping , walking , dinghy rides and of course wings at Riley's on Tuesday night. The local boaters were always on the dock in [...]

August 23 to August 27th

On the 23rd we headed for Napanee for a couple of nights and hoped to see boaters we met last year. Not much going on here , few boats and the town was not busy . We walked a bit both days.

Brockville to Saint Anne de Bellevue

10 July 2016
Wayne
After finding our spot on the wall we registered and found out where all the facilities were and did the laundry - a 2 hour job . Following a big feed of liver and onions which I cooked to Lori's satisfaction we walked up town and walked west along main street to where we could get on the river trail back to the boat . It was dotted with signs denoting the past history which was mostly industrial . The next morning we headed to Iroquois Lock and on for Crylser Marina ,which is in a Provincial Park which also has Upper Canada Village . We walked around the park in the afternoon and then found that we could get free admission and a ride to the village . The next morning after assisting some Looper's with directions ,we went to Upper Canada Village and returned after enjoying lunch at one of the restaurants - the mushroom , onion and cheddar cheese melt on freshly bake bread from the bakery in U C V was super as was Lori's vegetable soup and toast .
The next morning we were up early and left by 6am for Eisenhower lock and were held up for 3 1/2 hours before we could enter the attached Snell lock . On the Cornwall Marina for fuel and a pumpout before continuing on the Valleyfield , QC marina for 2 nights . We reconnected with the looper's for a while that evening . The next morning we went grocery shopping and asked the looper's to come to the boat about 7 pm for drinks . We had a great evening with Judy & Brian and Kathy and Tom .
Off the next morning for Saint Anne de Bellevue at the south end of greater Montreal . We planned to stay at least 2 nights . Our first night we enjoyed fish & fries at Peter Cape Cod restaurant after walking up and down the main steer along the river . The next morning we walked to the bus stop and rode for about an hour to the subway and on to Old Port area for Montreal and Old Montreal . We spent a few hours walking , Lori bought a dress , and we enjoyed a great corned beef sandwich , super day !!!!!!!!!!! The next morning , July 1st we decided to move on ..
