October 21st & forward

I returned to the boat on the October 21st and with Gerald's help the batteries were removed and I cleaned under the battery cases and applied a layer of gel coat. I also looked for a way to run power from the new to be installed inverter to the power panel in the boat cabin. It took quite a while but [...]

September 14th to September 21st

We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

August 27th to September 13th

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. Shopping , walking , dinghy rides and of course wings at Riley's on Tuesday night. The local boaters were always on the dock in [...]

August 23 to August 27th

On the 23rd we headed for Napanee for a couple of nights and hoped to see boaters we met last year. Not much going on here , few boats and the town was not busy . We walked a bit both days.

Brockport to Pittsford

04 June 2017
Wayne
Hi ,
After a few bridges we arrived in Brockport , a college town, and tied up and took a walk up town in the business area and then I mistakenly mentioned that I could see a $ store in the distance . After 1/2 mile walk and 1/2 hour shopping we returned to the boat with $7 and change worth of items !!!!! Then we signed in to see who had emailed . It was a great , sunny , windy day and ended with some rain at night .
The next day we were off to Spencerport for a 2 night stay . We scouted out the grocery store that afternoon and found out about the free wifi . After supper we went for our evening walk and then a movie .
The next day we went grocery shopping and of course I bought 2 - 30 packs of Genesee Cream Ale to last the summer . Then we updated our emails , had dinner , a walk and a movie .
The next day after talking to a few people about going down the Genesee River into Rochester we headed down the canal to the Genesee River and turned down stream . First we slowed almost to a halt past some scullers and the past the University of Rochester on one side and the Staybridge Suites hotel on the other . There are docks in front of the hotel we could tie up at . We continued about a mile down stream to a collection of condos called Corn Hill Landing which is another docking area . After that is a 75 ft high dam . We were on a fact finding mission as some said don't go and others said it's great - I believe another time we would stay . We have met people who were there for 3 days with no problem - much of the area was rundown and is being redeveloped . Back up stream we headed east in the Erie canal again and after 2 locks ended up in Pittsford , did some walking and had our first ice cream cone of the year - huge !!!! and I bought buttermilk to make muffins . We took a walk up the street and met a couple who summer in the 1000 islands . Dinner and a movie ....
We woke up to rain and it rained til early afternoon . We took care of some chores around the boat including me mixing the muffin dough which must be refrigerated overnight so we will have hot muffins in the morning !!!!!! We walked this afternoon and again after dinner . Catching up the blog and maybe a movie ... Moving on tomorrow .
