October 21st & forward

I returned to the boat on the October 21st and with Gerald's help the batteries were removed and I cleaned under the battery cases and applied a layer of gel coat. I also looked for a way to run power from the new to be installed inverter to the power panel in the boat cabin. It took quite a while but [...]

September 14th to September 21st

We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

August 27th to September 13th

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. Shopping , walking , dinghy rides and of course wings at Riley's on Tuesday night. The local boaters were always on the dock in [...]

August 23 to August 27th

On the 23rd we headed for Napanee for a couple of nights and hoped to see boaters we met last year. Not much going on here , few boats and the town was not busy . We walked a bit both days.

Hi ,
Lori did a final load of wash and we got pumped out and left for Lyons at 11:30am and arrived at 1:30pm after 3 locks . Bob Stopper came to greet us and then we walked to Tops for milk & tomatoes and mailed a letter . As we passed the legion we noted the was entertainment there tonight so we thought we would go and check it out after dinner . We went about 7:30pm and were greeted as we went in by one of the couples and then I bought a couple of beers and we sat down to listen . As we looked around we noted almost everyone was drinking pop except for about 6 of us . Lori talked to the lady beside her and found out most have had to quit drinking for health reasons but they come out on Saturday nights !!!!
While we were there members of the local motorcycle club came in - all big guys who are well received in the town as they are well behaved and are mostly a weekend group who meet there in there club house which used to be a hotel -bar .
The next morning we left for Baldwinsville and arrived at 2 pm . After a walk it started to rain .
The next morning we left for Winter Harbour for fuel and headed across Lake Oneida and got to lock 20 too late to get through so we tied up for the night . It had rained a bit throughout the day and continued at night . we were ready at 7 am to go through the lock and arrived at Little Falls at 11 am after several locks and some rain . We walked down town and and browsed and Lori had to buy a BIG apple fritter .
We are staying for 2 nights and will go to Rotary tonight and head to Canajoharie tomorrow .
