Hi ,
We left Trois-Rivieres at 11:40am and cruised at 10kts with the out going tide until Port Neuf when to cruisers passed us so we followed at 19 kts to the bridge at Quebec City . As we passed under the bridge we picked up speed and soon reached 27kts due to out going tide and the narrowing of the river . We found the opening in the 40 ft high concrete wall and then into the lock going up to the Port of Quebec Marina and our slip .
Lori called and got tickets to go whale watching the next morning on a bus tour .
We were up in time to get to the bus near the Chateau Frontinac and after a 3 hour ride we arrived at the tour center at St Catherine , QC . We chose the zodiac ride and say 3 kinds of whale , minke , beluga and fin whales and seals . We had a great time and after returning to Quebec City and found a restaurant for supper and back to the boat - great time .
On the 9th we walked to a Navel Museum near the marina and then to the down town area to the Quebec Museum for a couple of hours and then lunch . After lunch we toured the lower business area and took the lift to the Chateau Frontinac level and walked into the hotel for a look - great . We walked to the Metro on the way back to the boat and had supper in the boat .
On the 10th we walked up to Citadelle de Quebec for the changing of the Guard and a tour of the old fort -very impressive . We then walked through the Old City and found a place for late lunch and returned to the boat . We checked the tide schedule and readied to leave in the morning .
We left at 11:40am and headed up stream only to be stopped by the police to warn us about a big storm near Trois-Rivieres , we kept going . We got to Trois-Rivieres by 3:10pm , fueled up and started laundry and finished by 7:30pm , had supper and watched a movie .
On the 12th we were up and left at 6:20am and ran to Montreal and to St Lambert lock just as boats were going in so we entered without paying and paid later at each lock .
We were at Ste Anne de Bellevue tied up 1:50pm - good day . We had fish and chips at Peters and walked for a while . Tomorrow we head for Hawkesbury .
