October 21st & forward

I returned to the boat on the October 21st and with Gerald's help the batteries were removed and I cleaned under the battery cases and applied a layer of gel coat. I also looked for a way to run power from the new to be installed inverter to the power panel in the boat cabin. It took quite a while but [...]

September 14th to September 21st

We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

August 27th to September 13th

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. Shopping , walking , dinghy rides and of course wings at Riley's on Tuesday night. The local boaters were always on the dock in [...]

August 23 to August 27th

On the 23rd we headed for Napanee for a couple of nights and hoped to see boaters we met last year. Not much going on here , few boats and the town was not busy . We walked a bit both days.

June 10th to June 26th

Wayne Franklin
On June 10th I took the boat and Lori drove to Sarnia Bay Marina for the starting leg of our summer trip. On the 11th I rented a car and we took Lori's car home for the summer and returned to Sarnia and were ready to leave for Kincardine the next am.
We had great ride for half the way and then it got rough for the rest - not in the forecast . In Kincardine I replaced a bilge pump and replaced the holding tank sensors . A friend of mine replaced the plastics in 2 of the front windows which had cracked after years of use.
On the 15th we headed for Tobermory and the next day on to Killarney and stayed at the famous Killarney Mountain Lodge docks . We had fish and chips at the local restaurant, walked about the town and met the owner of the lodge. This was where we realized how covid was going to affect the summer travels. There had few boats in Tobermory but there were only 3 boats including us in Killarney. As we move on to Britt there were few boats on the water and there were only 2 boats on the docks up town. There were boats in Wrights marina but no one around. On the 18th on our way to Parry Sound I hit a submerged rock and scraped the keel and damaged both props. We were able to continue on to Parry Sound and tied up at Donald and Karen's home dock for the night.I managed to find a marina to lift the boat and change the props and inspect the damage to the keel. There was only slight damage to the props and the keel was not damaged much more than the gelcoat being scraped off. We returned to Donald's for the night and left for the Trent Severn the next morning getting to Big Chute marina for the night. Then we were off to Orillia for 3 nights and as I had to return to Ingersoll and London for tests on my heart we rented a car and drove home on the 24th , had my test on the 25th and drove back to Orillia on the 26th. There were only 5 boats on the docks in a 250 slip marina.
