Our Last Night on the Road!

Not much to report for yesterday - Bill drove and drove and drove. We left Slidell, Louisiana and stopped for the night in Lake City, FL. I had wanted to stop at Florida Caverns State Park but the tickets for the tour of the caverns are first come, first served and as we neared I called and we [...]

Chores To Do...

27 April 2017 | Cocoa Village, Florida
mid 80s, partly cloudy
We started the day with breakfast and showers with a side of laundry. While it was drying we emptied the aft cabin so that Bill could check the strainers (where the engine and air conditioning pull water in) and they certainly needed cleaning! Seaweed and mud in both! Then he emptied the antifreeze, flushed the heat exchanger, and filled it up again. Finally, he used the strobe to verify the RPMs of the engine while I moved the throttle. Turns out the tachometer is about 200 RPMs high, so that may be why the engine was running hotter than usual. We will see tomorrow! After lunch we headed to Publix via bus (back via Uber) to replenish produce mostly, put that away, and then walked into downtown Cocoa Village. There are many cute shops and lots of handmade items. The farmer’s market was open so we picked up some cucumbers and radishes for salad for lunch tomorrow, and then stopped at the Pub Americana for a few beers and wings - again. Back to the boat to fill the water tank and drop off the trash. We went to Murdock’s for dinner and there was live music – foot tapping blues. Bill had a tasty Shrimp and Andoullie Po’ Boy and I had Catfish Tacos. Both were delicious. We plan to leave our slip early so we will call it an early night.
