Exploring Savannah

Low 80s, cloudy
We woke to a pretty, calm, sunny day, but knew that storms were on their way. Showers and laundry started the day, and then about 10:30 am my brother Carl arrived with Mom, Molly, and dear friend, Nancy. The ladies came on board and settled in while Bill and Carl were sent to the grocery store with a list and I finished with the laundry. By 11:45 we were in Carl’s car headed for Savannah. We parked in a garage and walked to River St. along the waterfront and located a restaurant Bill had found on the internet – Huey’s. They feature New Orleans food, and everything we ordered was delicious. Afterwards Carl went on his way to work with farewells from all, and we strolled along the waterfront looking for a trolley to take us on a tour of the city. Tickets in hand, we caught the nearest one and went for the ride with an animated, comedic driver, Anna. What beautiful architecture and depth of history there is in Savannah! Lots of stories were shared and enjoyed. We debarked near the waterfront and walked the rest that had not been explored and then Ubered back to the marina. A simple pasta and sausage dinner followed wine time. The thunder storms passed us by but the wind picked up. A cool night for sleeping! All set to depart tomorrow for Beaufort!
