Storm or No Storm, That is the Question...

High 70s, partly cloudy, rainy later
The weather forecast included severe storms on the river, so we decided to stay here another night. Why not take advantage of this dock time and scrub the boat? Well, the end of the hose was broken off, so a visit to the hardware store was necessary. Into town we went on the golf cart, and found the hardware store, Dollar General, an autoparts store, and a roadside produce stand. Back to the marina with our purchases we went. Bill put the new end on the hose and then he went to the office to pay for another night – but no one was there. Meanwhile, I started cleaning the rope bags under the dodger. He returned with a new friend, Ray, from St. Petersburg, FL who came onto our boat for a tour. After chatting for a while, it was noon, and the scrubbing began. By the time we were finished we were starving. Bill paid the fee for tonight and we jumped in our now trusty golf cart and headed for Hunan Diner – Bill needed another hot and sour soup fix! After eating we headed to Food Lion to pick up a rotisserie chicken for dinner. Back to the boat and it was naptime for Bill. I replaced the corner seat armrests with new “noodle” inserts (from the Family Dollar by Food Lion). They get pretty squished after awhile and offer no cushion for my elbows. Phone calls and a shower for me, and then I did some sewing. Bill woke up as the thunder started. He took a shower and then wine time happened, along with rain and wind. The storm blew through, the sun came out, and we had dinner in the cockpit. Back downstairs for some quiet time and then catch some ZZZs… The photo shows a squeaky clean Impulse.
