Our Last Night on the Road!

Not much to report for yesterday - Bill drove and drove and drove. We left Slidell, Louisiana and stopped for the night in Lake City, FL. On the Way Down the Bay!

17 October 2018 | Solomons, MD
50s, partly cloudy
Bill called a few times asking where things were on the boat, but overall I think he and Mike are having a good trip. They left Swan Creek in Rock Hall at sunrise and sailed under the Bay Bridge. Bill said it was like a washing machine north of the bridge but settled down below it. Halfway through the day the wind died so the sails were put away, but the tide turned and gave the boat a push so they anchored in Mill Creek in Solomons by 4:00! Meanwhile, back at Kim’s house, the baby went to the pediatrician and all is fine. The weather was cool but sunny so we took the baby outside and cleaned out the vegetable garden since temps are dropping into the 30s soon. Kim and I hung a rod on the wall in the nursery and draped the Sunbonnet Sue quilt on it. My mother had it – I believe it was used when she was a child. Checking a few items off the “To Do” list.
