A Short Hop to Charleston

Happy Halloween!
We were up before sunrise but took it easy since this would be a short day – only 23 miles! We did bump the bottom once, but Bill handled it expertly and we were off in no time. The area is known for shoaling unexpectedly so he was going slow and watching the depth carefully. We passed through the Ben Sawyer Bridge easily and crossed the Charleston Harbor. Then went through the Wapoo Creek Bridge (see photo) and got to the St. John’s Marina where we fueled up, pumped out, and took a slip for two nights. After cleaning up a bit on the boat we took showers, and then Bill napped while I did laundry – four loads! Sister-in-law Nikki picked us up and took us to her house for dinner and a nice evening of greeting Trick or Treaters. I also did another load of laundry there! Carl was working, but we will see him tomorrow night before we leave. We have a list of chores to do and then hope to get into Charleston for a little shopping with Nikki. We drove her car back to the marina and went to bed.
