The Great Banana Mystery and Pirates
24 January 2017 | Marigot Bay - St Lucia
Frank
We are still on a mooring in Marigot Bay.
Brisa left yesterday morning for Bequai.
We did another hike again and took the hotel's small funicular rail part way up towards the ridge. It was a difficult path and we should have taken better footwear.
John and Ellie on Serenity sailed in from Europe via Barbados and rafted up with us. It was great to see them again. Mandy cooked us all an excellent supper.
We had been having trouble with our bananas hanging in the netting in the saloon.
During the night I found the cause when I disturbed a bird feeding on them. It flew straight out through the companion way. So i put the mosquito nets up to prevent its return.
We will leave a dawn tomorrow and sail non stop to Bequai and avoid the Pirates at St Vincent!
Maybe it's the Pirates that train the birds to steal the bananas!
