The Friendship Rose
24 December 2019 | Admiralty Bay - Bequia
Frank Hatfull | Bright and Breezy
We have had a fine week in Bequia.
The anchorage has steadily filled up since we arrived and it’s now quite busy with boats awaiting Christmas.
Dream Catcher has arrived as have several other OCC boats, but as yet no sign of Mermaid.
I have been suffering from a bad back which had not been helped by the rolly gusty anchorage.
We have done quite a few hikes which has kept us fit and helped my back, but it’s been too windy for Mandy’s paddle board.
Yesterday day we went on a trip on The Friendship Rose to Mustique, with Doug and Heather from Kalluna.
The Friendship Rose is a 50 year old locally built timber sailing boat. She now runs day trips with our good friend John from Ballyhoo as captain.
It was an absolutely excellent day out with marvellous crew and included breakfast, champagne, lunch and cocktails.
We are booked into Pappas to join in The Swedish Christmas Eve celebrations tonight. It was an absolutely fantastic affair last year!
The forecast is for wind to switch to Southerly for a few days, so we plan to head up to St Lucia on Boxing Day and the straight on to Martinique for the New Year.
