Fast Sailing But No Fish
08 January 2020 | Prince Rupert Bay - Portsmouth - Dominica
Frank Hatfull | Strong Winds Predicted
We spent Monday morning in Fort de France.
It is much cleaner and tidier than the last time we visited.
The architecture is very colonial and there are some very interesting iron framed buildings, including the church and library.
We set off late Monday morning for St Pierre, we had a great sail and made record time. But we did manage to break the electric Genoa furler belt. They last about 5 years, we have spares and it was easy to replace at anchor.
On Tuesday morning we left at before dawn for Dominica. It was another very fast sail. We stopped off at several bays before eventually picking up a PAYS morning in Prince Rupert Bay.
So two good days of sailing but no fish even trying a new lure.
We are here with Kalluna and Cranstackie sailed up with us.
It was also great to see Alexis one of our dear local friends and we were able to give him all sorts of boat bits from our ongoing pre-sale clear outs.
Strong winds are still predicted for Thursday!
