Bloody Rough Crossing
19 February 2020 | Jolly Harbour - Antiqua
Frank Hatfull | Windy
We sailed up from Pigeon Island to Deshaise on Sunday afternoon after Mandy spend most of the morning snorkelling.
We met up briefly with Bob & Eileen from Songster in the anchorage.
We left Deshaise at dawn on Monday.
The weather forever was reasonable and it was supposed to be the lightest winds for a few days.
But .... none the less we were cautious after our 50+ knots winds of the previous day.
We had a reefed main and reefed staysail.
The conditions were dreadful we had strong winds, high seas, heavy rain and poor visibility for the 8 hour crossing.
We arrived safely but tired in Jolly Harbour mid afternoon.
We had an easy day yesterday and all is well.
