Our next crew Catherine (recently qualified Coastal Skipper!) and Paul came onboard at lunch time. By now we were champing at the bit to be off and they had to eat en-route to Favignana in the Egadi Islands. A nice anchorage for a swim and then off to the next island for more swim supper and a rock and roll night.
Lovely sail back to Trapani - anchoring in the harbour this time. Nice calm night. Lovely view of castles lighthouses and Erice in the mist. Next day to Capo San Vito - a nice seaside town - with yet more swims on the way. Amazing pasta and "lovely" tuna salad (a selection of different but highly salted slices of tuna with a lettuce leaf!) Then to anchorage inside the harbour of Castellemarie de Golfe.
Long motor sail to Palermo and arrived at siesta time. We were told that lots of ribs would come and entice us into their pontoons - not a bit of it - the place was dead. Managed to park up on the quay for yet another 50 euros!
Had a short wander round Palermo - will be coming back so not serious sight seeing. It is MANIC - traffic everywhere - pedestrian crossing are ignored as well as red lights in general. Lots of Sicilian pizza to finish off Paul's first voyage.
