Hello my name is Dave


Well lets see what happened to date

Came back from the Uk and had to stay in a Pension in Lisbon, as we arrived too late to catch the last bus to Sines. (only by 10 mins... Bugger)

Managed to get to the bus station (now know there is TWO in Lisbon we needed the one next to the Zoo).. And was able to get an early bus back, got back to the boat settled down... Hunted thro our bags to put all our goodies away, marmite, oxo cubes, curry powder, Bird’s Trifle mix, sage and onion stuffing, teabags ... All the essentials. When I realised that my phone was not there... So I’d left it in Lisbon ! (again Bugger)

The lovely people at the Pension... Sent it on to me.... My phone, still had all its credit on it, and i only had to shed out 4 euros for posting.... Very happy bunny

We’ve been out for the “Sea wall Pontoon Xmas Dinner” ... good turn out, Rob, Andy, Lady and me (we are a Sea Wall Pontoon Club). Went to lovely place, had half a bottle of white wine and nearly had to be carried home.

Our Christmas day was rather quiet we had Andy and Lady aboard, Rob Cooked Crimbo dinner and I made him his traditional Birthday Trifle (with out sherry)... Only problem was whisking the dream topping I struggled for a good 40mins, whisking by hand... Rob offered to take over... But he decided he could do better... Out came an electric drill, attached the whisk... 2 mins later !!!!! grrrrr

New Year celebrations here consisted of two ships horns going off at midnight... That was it ! Totes Rah !

Now the reference to Dave... Is because Andy couldn’t remember my name and kept asking Rob what it was... Rob kept saying “Dave“... Andy kept laughing saying “no really what is it.”. Again Rob said “Dave... Got her off the internet“... Andy grins nods and said “yep you have to be careful ordering off the t’internet”

Didn’t think much of if till on his boat, he’s making tea and shouts “Dave do you take sugar “ ... my mistake was to tell Robs’ dad one night on skype..... After our little chat he signs off “bye Dave”....

When I get back to the Uk and wander into the Orwell Yacht Club... I was greeted with “hello Rob” and “look its Dave”.... and I got a cup of tea served in a I Love Dave mug... Which I am drinking from as I type.

We also heard about the Turkish guy we met... It turns out he’s the one picked up by police near Plymouth and now detained. Eek...

Have spoken to our Swedish friends they are now in Brazil,
Debs and Stevie on Bijoux are back in Australia, but should be back in a few months. Our paths may cross.
Andrew and Steph Brett on Carousel are in the Canaries and have threatened to go up the Gaudiana and Alcoutim some time in summer... So we will see them.
