Diving & Sailing

Yesterday, I put on my diving gear and with a scraper cleaned the prop. Over the last months so much foul had developed around it that the prop looked more like a ball of seafood. Overall the hull was rather clean. There was no foul on the hull itself, just on the prop and its axis where no antifouling had been applied. The zinc on the propeller axis was in good shape. I also cleaned the log pad wheel and the depth sounder. I guess Iris won't need a haulout until after summer.
Today I sailed out with friend Iigo. Quite a difference since last time. The propeller was again fully effective and the log and depth sounder work again (left to do is fixing the windex, which apparently also needs some lubrification; I'll do that when I install the new topping lift block). We sailed during 4 hours with a fair wind and top speeds of around 6 knots. Mooring wasn't without difficulty with quite a lot of wind from behind.
