Trip to Paradise

05 August 2008 | St. Lucia
Paul
I have been sailing south on my own since Jan left for a visit back home. Weddings, bithdays, family and friends. She left me to do the dirty work of moving the boat as far south as possible while avoiding any of those nasty swirling things.

So far all is good. "H" season is on us, but nothing so far coming anywhere close. I'm at Rodney Bay and the area is being changed drastically by the IGY group, changing the anchorage into another full service marina. They have planned to tear down all the original buildings and start again with new stuff. Us boaters must give them a great deal of money for them to afford to spend the way they do. This is still the most hurricane safe place I have seen for a long time and now I can rest more easily knowing I can hide if neccessary.

I have 2 weeks before I meet Jan in St Vincent. We then plan to carry on further south into the Grenadines and explore as far south as Grenada, all the time keeping a carefull eye on the weather.
