END OF MY 4TH DECADE

That's a gentle way of saying I turned 50 yesterday! The pain was dissipated by Nic organising a fabulous break from the boat at the Petite Anse Hotel (www.petiteanse.com) on the north coast of Grenada. We hired a car and enjoyed a sunset drive there on Monday evening, delayed slightly by a detour to the police station to get a local driving licence. It is something normally provided by the rental agency but they had run out of forms and forgotten to order more - very Caribbean!
A delicious dinner and a moonlight walk on the beach relieved all the tensions of the work schedule and pressing deadlines. Waking up in a four-poster bed with a picture-postcard view across to Cariacou and Ile de Ronde was wonderful after a restful night listening to the waves crashing below.
Our day after a traditional English breakfast, was spent chilling out at this relatively new hotel run by English couple and ex cruisers, Peter and Annie Clift. We drove back down the east coast in time to return the car and pick my scruptious chocolate birthday cake which Nic had ordered from Le Phare Bleu. Eating it with a bottle of champagne at sunset was the perfect end to a superb birthday.
