NIC GOES SOLO
30 January 2011 | Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda
Nic
I left Marina Cay in flat, oily calm - unusual conditions for the Caribbean – and motored against the wind to Savannah Bay. On route the weather changed and the wind started blowing 20/25 knots. The skies darkened and the rain came. I had to loiter outside the bay until the visibility improved enough for me to navigate the reefs. A one hour trip turned into two hours and involved the bimini sides going up and down and the cushions in and out endlessly.
