RENDEZVOUS WITH SPIIP
05 February 2011 | Great Harbour, Peter Island

With a long list of installations and repairs to do, the boat looked messier and messier as the week went on and I was panicking that it wouldn't be back together before Michele returned. No swims, no snorkelling and an inordinate amount of time on the computer. The emails and phone calls were coming in thick and fast, annoying when trying to silicone something.
There were squally conditions leaving Drakes Anchorage with rain up the "bottom" and poor light to go through the reefs but, with the keel up, Irony had no problems. I had nice genoa sail for 12 miles down to Peter Island and was delighted to see Michele again. Great Harbour was very full on arrival and I had some ridiculous anchor manoeuvres, avoiding boats arriving and leaving. When the anchor was down and the snubber on, a motor boat decided I was over their anchor chain and wanted me to move even before I had Michele onboard. It turned out their anchor was not where they thought and all was ok. Michele told me later that they had watched them dragging their anchor from Spiip.
