DIRECT TO GRENADA
25 March 2011 | St Georges, Grenada
Michele/clear and sunny
We said farewell to Anna on the 22nd March. More on our adventures in Puerto Rico later.
The winds were predicted to turn more easterly so we decided to forego any further stops and get down to Grenada. We set sail at noon on Tuesday and were pleased to have very north easterly trades which we took advantage of to get as far east as possible. The strategy put extra miles on our journey but it paid off as we were pushed ever more south by the changing wind direction. I was happy to arrive in St Georges on Friday night after 472 miles non-stop. For me it was a rough and uncomfortable trip but Nic quite enjoyed the sail. We now have to start preparing Irony for our haulout in Trinidad on 5th April.
