We set out of Huntington with Nick and Jacob, picked up Alyssa on City Island, where we anchored and had lunch. Then we motored down the East River, made a wid turn around the tip of Manhattan to get a close-up view of the Statue of Liberty
and then up the Hudson River. Our plan was to get a slip on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, but the tide didn't allow us to enter, so we quickly secured a slip a Chelsea Piers. Chelsea Piers has no breakwater and the two days we spend there was quite rocky, but it calmed down enough at night for all of us to sleep well. Stepping off the boat onto Manhattan was fantastic. NYC is too big to see in two days but we did as much as we could. The kids got worn out pretty quickly but all in all we all had a great time.
