Perseids Meteor Shower

George / Warm/ Sunny
On Saturday evening Kathy and I trekked out to the tip of Crane Point to spend some time looking for meteors from the Perseids. In total there were about 20 people collected for the late evening.
The local astronomy club along with our friend Jay (The Stargeezer) had about 5 telescopes set up.
Everybody got to see at least one falling star and some folks, presumably those without "ADHD", got to see quite a few.
I saw one that was very wide and quite yellow in contrast to the normal white shooting stars.
The highlight of the night was a near perfect viewing of Saturn. Rings, moons, and all. I can only imagine the first person who viewed Saturn through a telescope must have simply said " Come here you gotta see this". I heard that simple phase quite a few times on Saturday evening.
Our V-berth refurbishment is near completion. All the painting is complete. Two more coats of crazy expensive Epiphanes varnish and it will be complete. It is however somewhat difficult to put on a lot of varnish in a very small room. Even with the hatch open a headache usually ensues.
It is like getting a hangover without drinking... doesn't seem fair.
Life is good.
