back to Maho Bay

March 13
We had planned to leave Soper's Hole Tuesday night and head to Red Hook on St Thomas. I had cleared in and out both when we arrived Monday thinking we would be ready to leave Tuesday afternoon. But the day ran late and it was to late to leave and to top it off we missed the dock master that comes around and collects the mooring fee each night. So it was Wednesday morning after the marina office opened before we left. The short trip to Red Hook was a motor trip being as the wind was very light and we had things to do in Red Hook. Once there Kim did some laundry and grocery shopping. We called to pick up Cate and Irene said she had decided to take our offer and come spend a few days with us. By the time everyone was on the boat it again was late in the afternoon. Let's see, up anchor and head to Maho Bay, arrive after dark, try to find a mooring and pick it up or relax, drink beer, visit and head to Maho in the morning. Yep! you guessed it. So this morning we weighed anchored and headed out. We are now on a mooring at Lat 18 21.61N Lon 064 44.82W Maho Bay. Kim received a phone call this morning from the Post Office that there was a P.O. box available in Cruz Bay St Johns. That was one of the things we had checked on back in December when we were heading to Puerto Rico. There was a list and not knowing what the future brings we put our names on it and they just called today(you have to wonder about the timing). Anyway, Kim, Cate and Irene headed to Cruz Bay in the dinghy to get the P.O. Box and do some girl shopping. We will stay here until Sunday when we have to leave for Road Town.
