getting things done

Our stay in Charlotte Amalie was a little longer than we thought. But we wanted to spend as time much as we could visiting with Andy and Irene before they headed west and north as it will be several months before we see them again. Also we ordered a few things and had to wait for them to be shipped so we don't have them sitting at the post office for a long time. Lots of boats we know or have talked to over the ssb came through and it was good to visit with them also. The season here is changing for sure. The weather the last week has been like summer time with less than 10 kts winds and calm seas. You can feel the warmth out in the afternoon sun. Right now we are in Christmas Cove Lat 18 18.47N Lon 064 49.96W. This is one of the places we plan to spend time at this summer. You can anchor here so no mooring ball fee. It is a short dinghy ride over to Cowpet bay on St Thomas where there is a Yacht Club that we can join and use the facilities. We are getting a good internet signal from there also. It is a pay service $40 a month with "Choice" but they have several locations in the USVI. We were using the same service in Charlotte Amalie all with good signal. We paid for a month and will see where all we can get the service. We will go over to St Johns today and pickup the packages. We have some other things that we need to take care of like getting the animals their shots and registering the boat with DPNR and checking with the yacht club, so we will try to get everything done before we head back to BVI but plan to head there on Monday morning. Once we are in BVI we plan to stay there until we finish our projects how ever long that may be. Cate is doing good and enjoyed spending a couple of nights with Ms Irene. The animals are doing good and are really becoming use to the boat. They have not gotten sea sick again and Milo likes going in his cage when we are underway. Shellbe runs over for us to put her harness and leash on knowing that we only put it on her when we are getting underway. Shellbe is now comfortable using the deck and will hold it when we take her ashore until we get back to the boat. A bucket of sea water and the deck is clean and it is easier than picking up the dog yard we had in the keys for Caruso, but he is still with us as his ashes sit proudly on a shelf in the aft berth.
