Myrtle Beach Yacht Club
23 May 2015 | Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, SC

After a great night's sleep, we woke up rested and rejuvenated, and surrounded by lots of natural beauty. Anchor was raised at 0715 and we were off to experience South Carolina's ICW that was at first pristeen and gorgeous, then became a parade of varying waterfront house styles in and around Myrtle Beach -- some ostentatious, some tacky, and others simply enhancing their waterfront environs.
We made it to the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club (MBYC) marina at SM 347 at the end of the day around 1745 -- about a 70 mile day (We stopped here southbound in Nov so returning customers with BoatUS discount, it was only $1/ft/night, quite a good deal for the facility). We knocked off a little early given few decent anchorages up ahead and instead gave iWinds2 a complete bath to wash off all the salt deposits and grime left by our previous 36-hour marathon. She was happy and looks great again!
Then Gene and I went to dinner at the MBYC restaurant - what an unexpectant treat in so many ways! The food was good, the crowd was lively, and the entertainment was only the beginning of what entertained us. Just let me say that we love our EYC and all of our quirky Eastportiricans! I hope that we all age as gracefully as - or more than -the MBYC members . . . .
We haven't yet picked a final destination for Plan D because as soon as we do, we'll need to have Plan E. Suffice it to say that we're making way and hope to be as far along as reasonably possible. Stay tuned!
