Ode to Old Age

We made it back in time to do a little work on a project we have going in the back yard: a retaining wall. We have bought 4 palettes of bricks and we are about to lay them. We've hired a young man who is a very good worker and he has been ever so helpful. Today I (Jay) went to the ophthalmologist's office [...]

Geary's palapa
We enjoyed our visit with Geary. We looked around the anchorage in the dinghy. It’s been a bit windy around here. Randy, another local boater and Rotarian, offered us a ride into Mulege today. He is doing volunteer dentistry in Mulege for the local townspeople. So we took him up on the ride this morning. We were impressed by the town. The people take pride in keeping the town nice, and they seem very successful at it.
We took Randy for lunch at Bertha’s in El Burro Cove. It was very nice and then we came back to the boat for a slow afternoon. Anita made beef and broccoli for supper and did an excellent job of it. After supper we played cards with Lark and Lyle Balmer from Aleydabeth. Anita and I were excellent hosts by ``letting`` Lyle win at hearts. There will be other occasions to get even I hope.
