Ode to Old Age

We made it back in time to do a little work on a project we have going in the back yard: a retaining wall. We have bought 4 palettes of bricks and we are about to lay them. We've hired a young man who is a very good worker and he has been ever so helpful. Today I (Jay) went to the ophthalmologist's office [...]

Out for a couple of weeks

In late June, Anita’s shoulder and my eye healed sufficiently to make a little journey on Karina C.

We spent the morning cleaning up the teak. The later part of the morning we cleaned up the boat as we were entertaining company this afternoon and evening. I did get a chance to clean up Wayne (the vane) and he will need re-greasing in the next couple of days.
We had a nice time meeting Jeff and Dori. They are a wonderful couple on a slightly larger boat here in San Carlos. They are heading N after San Carlos as we are heading S. We are undecided about our destination, but Kip and Mary Hill are going to be in Puerto Escondido this weekend, so we might head there and wait for them.

First day of the norther. Came up around 1200. I got a coat of cetol on the teak and then the wind started to blow. It is forecast to keep up through Friday. We will keep Karina at the dock until Saturday morning. If things have not laid down at that point, we will take a mooring and wait for a weather window.
El Computer started to act weird this morning. Sound wasn’t working. Then, poof, a couple of updates and we are back in business. Dunno what that was about.
This afternoon we are again at the pool. It is a lovely spot (see the pic). As we walked over, we said hello to Judith (from Juce). They are staying on C dock for a few days while they get their propshaft aligned.
The neighbour loaned me his movie collection. Rockin setup it is reported to be. Lotsa first run stuff on it.
