San Carlos - We made it!

Yesterday morning we were up early and had breakfast with "the guys" in the RV park. They spent the whole time we were there talking about TV remote controls. Anita says she knows why I am so expert at TV remotes. I have spent every non working moment discussing TV remotes in the staff room at lunch break.
We were on the road at 0800 and we soon made it to Tucson. We were just in time for rush hour unfortunately. After a few stops we got on the freeway, we soon got onto I-19 for Nogales. We had no trouble at the border. Mexican Customs were their usual polite and accommodating. We then blitzed down the "hassle free" highway for San Carlos. The hassle free means there is no speed limit for out of country plates.
Just outside of Hermosillo we bought a roadmap of the town as I always get lost going through the town. This time was no exception. Even with a roadmap, we soon realized the street names are missing a lot of the time. Anita was frantic as we blitzed into seemingly confused streets. We shot out of the town 15 minutes later using the navigational strength of some trailer trucks that looked like they knew what they were doing.
Just outside of San Carlos we saw these massive tanks being hauled down the highway (picture). They took both lanes. This stopped all oncoming traffic when the highway was down to 1 lane each way.
Eventually, we passed them when the highway became 3 lanes for a few yards. Marina Seca welcomed us and we soon noticed Nyon (Kyra and Rick) just a few boats down from us. By bedtime we had commissioned the boat enough to live in.
This morning I took a close look at the rudder. It will have to be sanded a bit and then I will epoxy the areas the Imron didn't take. Tomorrow (Thursday) I will sand and prep the rudder. Tomorrow evening I will put 1 coat of epoxy. Friday morning I'll do a 2nd coat and then we will prep the hull for paint on Sunday. We should splash on Monday and then take 3 days at the dock to finish commissioning Karina. Grub up and off to Santa Rosalia. The ocean water is around 26C. This is good as I think we left the shortie wet suits at home.
I am heading off to the showers and then to bed. We would like to be up early (0600) as the sun gets too hot to work by noon. Anita got a pool pass from the marina, so tomorrow we will go for a swim in the afternoon.
