Next Step - Marine Survey and Sea Trial
20 February 2008 | Key West, FL
Philip

Thanks for the overwhelming support from all of our friends and family. We so much appreciate the encouragement, and we look forward to this new phase of our lives.
The next step in the process is the marine survey and sea trial. A very important meeting is taking place, preventing Philip from being down there, but Sharon will be there to take charge. The contingent going down, is Sharon, our friend and partner, Capt. Bill, our broker, Paul and our surveyor Mike. We are still looking for a skilled diesel mechanic in Key West, so if you have any referrals please let me know.
The plan is that the team arrives in Key West next week, Wednesday 27 Feb, and the Liberty is hauled out so that Mike to do audio-gauging of the steel hull. This will measure the plate thickness, and determine the soundness of the hull. Then on Thursday is the sea trial and survey. All the systems will be inspected and the boats handling under power and sail will be tested.
On Friday the team flies home, and we await Mike's report.
