Talking of Sea Snakes!!!!

17 October 2009 | Noumea
Jane
Had a bit of a shock today. We dinghied over to White Hawk, tied up on the pontoon beside her and hopped out. Paul suddenly says 'There's a snake in your dinghy!" "Yeah, right" we say (Paul's known for his weird sense of humour) but glance back in, just to be on the safe side. Bloody hell, there WAS a snake in the dinghy. I shrieked. Andy moved away like a rat up a drain pipe! Most of the others backed off. Luckily, boys being boys, it then became a project on how to get it out. No-one was quite prepared to put a hand in and pick it out (although a little four year old girl on the next boat did offer) so we eventually pulled the dinghy onto the pontoon and sort of tipped it back over the side.

I cannot imagine what we'd have done if I'd seen it while we were on the way over (it was under my seat!) Probably both abandoned ship!
