Another collector's item, Levkas is just about an island because of the canal that goes through the salt marsh between it and the mainland. It's about 3 km long and the swing bridge over it opens every hour on the hour for traffic, mostly yachts now, to rush through. The book had warned of irate bridge operators that threw tantrums if you were going too slowly. We didn't see anyone even looking mildly cross and enjoyed the motor through. Especially passing the rubbish tip!
