Westernport to Sydney
20 October 2008
We have at last arrived in Sydney having taken 3 weeks to sail from Westernport. We actually only sailed for 6 days but due to bad weather, were forced to stop and socialise and sample various fish restaurants on the way! We did 4 overnight sails which has really given me confidence for the Big Adventure.
Nova is now cleaned and empty, a huge job as we have been living on her since March. We both vowed not to collect so much stuff again!! She is on the broker's mooring ready for someone to come and snap her up. She looked really good as we motored away from her and someone will get a really up-together boat.
We are now on dry land until we leave in December for the Caribbean. We have heard that Drimia, our Dufour 43 that is waiting for us there, survived Hurricaine Omar and some work that is needed on her will be started in November.
So very exciting .....just need to do a bit of work now to supplement the 'Bugger, the mast is broken' fund!
