Two weeks to go!

21 November 2008 | Sydney
Jane
I have now finished work, after most of the last 39 years working full time!! I like the feeling, I have to say, and can recommend it! We are going to spend the next week packing up in Sydney and seeing people to say goodbye. The we fly to the UK on 2 December for a couple of days and off to St Maarten on 5 December.

Drimia has come out of the boatyard now, unscathed apparently. The yard did the anti-fouling and a few other jobs that needed doing and she has been sailed over to Oyster Pond marina where we will pick her up. Moorings, who we bought her from, are going to do a few jobs that needed doing and she should be waiting for us to move on to. I have to say, it's been great living back on dry land for a few weeks, but it will be even better to get back on a boat again. Especially one where the view out of the window changes every day!! Andy believes that you should always have a view of a palm tree when you're showering!

Please keep in touch. You can leave messages on here and we'll still be on hotmail while we're in the Caribbean. Love to all.

About:
We are Brits but moved to Australia in 2007 and became True Blue Australians in 2014! We bought our first boat, Drimia, in St Maarten in the Caribbean back in 2009 and sailed her back to Australia over nearly a year. [...]
Extra: 17/02/15 In September 2014, illness made us give up our trip and go back to the UK for treatment. Andy has myeloma and had to have chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. He is now in remission.
