Paul Hot and lovely
Motoring from San Martinho do Port towards penich on Thursday when our gearbox went bang!! We were drifting towards the shore with no wind to sail the boat. We called on the VHF with no success. Eventually we telephoned a friend on his boat in Peniche who managed to get hold of the very helpful GNR Brigada Fiscal on their boat LVI Burgau, a very fast patrol boat usually used for patrolling for smugglers etc. They came and towed us in to the marina and with great skill put the boat very gently on to the pontoon where people were waiting to take our ropes. Now awaiting an engineer to fix the gear box, so will be here for a few days!!
