The forecast called for 20 knot winds from the south, just perfect for a comfortable passage to the NNW. Overnight the winds built to 30 sustained, we shortened sail 3 times, and now have just one head sail out. The seas are impressively large, 10 or 12 foot swells, and the motion aboard the boat somewhat exaggerated. Hekla is performing splendidly and is very safe, even though the humans are stressed. We are making great time averaging 10 knots, and expect landfall at Robinson Crusoe Islands in the morning, about 20 hours from now.
