The rest of the story

10 March 2014 | Marine research Center
Sunny, 75
So, today we saw the caretaker for the research center arrive and we went in and talked to him. Turns out that the rumors are partly true but also exaggerated and some what wrong. Perry, the owner who dies was actually quite famous, he owned electric companies and a submarine company and was appointed by President Johnson to establish an agency that researched the oceans and atmosphere, it is called NOAA. Perry did establish this center and was somewhat funded by the US but also by his funding, heis third wife made a mess out of things and the center closed in 2011, 6 years after Perry died. It has been ransacked by thieves but we toured the whole facility and it must have been amazing when in operation. According to the caretaker, a lot of research was accomplished here, the methods for farming Tilapia were developed here and there was a lot of hydrogen generation research being performed. The whole 750 acre site was just sold to new owners and he has no idea what they have planned but he thinks it will be private and not allow people like us to roam the grounds so we got in just in time. The truck does run, he was driving it on the road to the runway and to the other side of the island where the big boss lived in a pretty amazing looking house overlooking some pristine beach frontage, oh to be rich and own this piece of paradise would be cool.
