A final morning coffee with friends and a 10-30am departure towards Kastos. After some very smooth sailing for about two hours, the wind dropped to zero so back on went the engina again. After a steady motor to Kastos, we tentatively approached the anchorage. Anchoring here is different to anything we have done before. Pump up the dinghy and launch ready for use on arrival. Head into the anchorage in reverse whilst dropping the anchor, approximately 70 metres of chain (that's a lot!). With Tracey on the anchor and Mark on the helm, I jumped into the dinghy and headed for shore with a line to tie the stern of the boat to the wall. OK, so next time I'll take a longer line! After two attempts and tying three lines together, and Mark reversing more against the anchor, I managed to tie our first line to the wall. Back to the boat, collect the second LONG line, 60 metres, tied up and then adjusted anchor and lines to keep us stationary. Quite a faff really, next time we'll just anchor outside the harbour and dinghy to shore I think. Anyway, all in the dinghy to get ashore, a short walk up to the Windmill Cocktail Bar for a beer then back to Belos Restaurant on the harbour wall for yet another great Greek dinner with local wine.
