Cleaning Day

After a trip like this, there is more cleaning required than you would imagine. The main point is to remove as much sea water as possible from everything on the boat. This can be time consuming! I pumped up the dinghy and kayak on the pontoon, hosed down everything including oars, paddles, bags, etc and left everything to dry ready for packing away.... and that's when the rain started....OK, so the cleaning plan failed! Four trips to the car later with stuff and we were ready to head home after a great trip away. When we got home, we were greated by our three cats, George, Nelson and Poppy, who had been eating next door for a few weeks. That was the good news. The bad news was the horrendous smell that hit us when we opened the front door. What had happened? Had someone broken in and died during the burglary? No. The fridge freezer had lost power on the first day of our holiday due to an electrical fault on the garden lights which are on the same circuit, tripping the breaker. What a nightmare! Little did we know at this point that we would still be bleaching the fridge parts three days later....and possibly longer.... QUASAR IV OF LLEYN is signing off for now until the next trip/repair!
