Engine rebuild
"Free Spirit" had her 4107 Westerbeke and Hurth transmission removed in early November. I chose Hansen marine to do the rebuild based on their reputation. October 2014 is the date of departure for the Caribbean.

She looks great
After much teak work, Free Spirit looks great. The bowsprit backing plate, originally made from mild steel has been replaced with a stainless steel one. Also, the new mainsail with full battens has made a wonderful difference. North Sails. inc. does make a great sail!!! Well, its off to the annual Cape Dory float-in.

Getting ready
The pressure is on. She is in the middle of the yard and needs to be placed back in her medium. The iron genny works and the topsides are waxed. There is still plenty to do but we will survive.
