Moored at J Dock, Port of Newport Marina, the wind that started last night at 8 pm, continued all day today. Northerly 20-25 knots with the associated wave action, pushed us south 100 miles to the Newport Jetties, and apparent safety of the inner harbor. After organizing the aftermath of our first ocean leg, we tried unsuccessfully to catch the Newport Loop bus. Disappointed, we hoofed it up and over the famous Newport entrance bridge, and down into the Bay Front. Key was stopping for coffee, and to settle down for a bit. After picking up some milk and a fillet of Columbia River Steelhead, we called a taxi for the return to our boat. We heard that the fireworks for Independence Day tomorrow will be shot off of a barge in the inner bay. So we should have front tow seats in our cockpit!
