Leaving San Francisco behind after a morning of touring around Treasure Island and the San Francisco waterfront, we headed along the California Coastline southward. At times we saw enough wind that we tried jib, then jib and main. But we finally gave up in light air, motoring at 1800rpm which runs the boat about 6.3 knots. We will be passing Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur before daylight tomorrow. We are seeing large flocks of Common Murres, Gulls, and Brown Pelicans. Sue took a photo of a large gathering of moon jellies which we motored through. But I didn't want to suck any moon jellies into our engine intake! Our strainer would catch them hopefully. Beautiful sunset photos as well. We are just a few miles offshore, so that we can enjoy the scenes eastward. Oh, there is still smoke going south.
