Golfito is 110 miles from Quepos. So we have broken up the trip into three legs. The first was Uvita Bay where we had a wonderful snorkel at a marine refuge reef offshore. Besides seeing so many parrot fish, we saw a wide variety of butterfly fish, box fish, wrasses, trigger fish, two huge jacks, and so forth. We then motored along the shore line until the wind increased, and then we sailed on two different occasions. The everpresent local fishermen had nets/long lines marked by tall black flags. We were concerned about running over the nets. But it was no problem. We have arrived in Drake's Bay named after Sir Francis Drake of England and his ship The Golden Hine. A very pleasant marine community, we always wonder: 'Could we live here?' But we keep on going.
