Our morning started with a dream sail with full jib and main sail, doing 6.5-7.0 knots with a positive current. But the wind died at 9:30am which often times is an indication that the diurnal wind cycle is changing. In fact about 1:30pm we were hit by strong winds and adverse currents which were causing significant wave heights. We tried to sail away from shore, towards shore, and finally decided to motor into the wind which allowed us to quarter the waves. Ugh. We arrived at our evening anchorage at 6:00pm. And Sue had prepared a teriyaki chicken dinner underway! How great is that?!
