Dinghy Repair

Our inflatable dinghy is our water taxi, when we are at anchor or a mooring away from a dock. What we became aware of in New York City while at anchor, the dinghy had a substantial water leak. The inflatable tubes were fine. But as we sat on the tubes, our weight would open a seam between the tubes and the fiberglass flooring, allowing water to seep in. At the NYC dinghy dock, we would return after a day's activities, and find 4 inches of water in the dinghy!!!! So we asked the local marina in Connecticut where they would suggest our having the dinghy repaired. We called this company and found out they would come to us (50 miles away) while delivering another repaired boat in the area. We arranged for pick-up Thursday afternoon. They repair boats on Saturday, re-float them on Monday when the glue is dry, and hopefully all is good and finished for pickup. Our hopes are high! (We think the cause has been UV exposure to the bottom seams while the dinghy rests upside down, deflated on the back deck of 'Julia Max'.)
