Furthest North on the Eastern USA

16 August 2018 | Weymouth, Massachusetts near Boston
George Stonecliffe
As our cruise plans mature, we have determined that Boston will be our last port on the way northward on the Eastern USA coast. At the invitation of snowbirds in Marathon, Florida, we came to their yacht club: Wessagussett Yacht Club in Weymouth, just south of Boston. My sister, Donna, and her son Jason's family who live in the Boston area will be coming to spend some time with us on Saturday, the 18th. In the meantime we dealt with some boat projects, and tomorrow will be working on laundry, buying groceries, and visiting a local marine supply. While at the dock today, we enjoyed casually watching a group of 30 young sailors in a variety of small boats showing their sailing skills after two months of daily classes. We learned that this young group was a combined force from three different sailing clubs in the immediate area. In addition several yacht club members came over and visited with us, learning about our trip, where we have been, and where we are going. After this weekend, we will turn around and start heading south along the US coast, taking in new and different places.
