Weather Window Leaving Bermuda
08 December 2018 | Bermuda
Thursday AM we will depart Bermuda heading to the British Virgin Islands in a weather window that may end up being a week of light winds. This is good and not so good. The seas will quiet down from >8' to <6'. With some sailing winds 15-20 Gusts to 25 we should have a couple days of fine sailing. A few days will be 10-15 kts with all sails up. The longer we can sail without using the engine the better, because we will have a few days of motor/sailing for sure. So diesel is at a premium. If the seas give us a push, we should be alright. We need to go east when we can, as the Trade Winds may kick up pushing us to the west. Starting at Longitude W65, we hope to get to W63 as our eastern most effort. Sue and I are the two souls on board. But having our windvane will help us steer a good course!
