Panama: the long, skinny country
16 April 2019 | Isla Coliba, Panama
Panama takes a week of day-sailing to go it's total length. We left Panama City on the 11th, and we are in our fifth anchorage on our way to the western border with Costa Rica. We will check out from Puerto Armuelles on Thursday, April 18 before the public holiday of Good Friday. The rainy season in Panama has become more evident, as there is a general mist obscuring the land as we motor and sail along. One night in Benao Bay was lit up with sheet lightening. Some of the strikes resulted in scorched earth, as we noticed on a land trip we took before leaving Panama City. At Isla Coliba we hope to snorkel and walk in the island's national park.
