The FedEx tracking number shows delivery of the fuel injector pump comes to Ketchikan tomorrow! I met Jerry Rogers, the mechanic, today. He came to 'Julia Max' to see the Yanmar engine that he would install the new fuel injector pump on. I gave him Section 6 of my Engine Manual, 'Fuel System, including the Fuel Injector Pump'. He said turning the timing wheel to 12 o'clock is critical before removing the pump. He asked about the problem, and hearing about metallic shavings, and then erratic fuel injector pump pressure, he realized the distributor of the pump was no longer functioning well. He commented that the disconnecting of the pump will take time; then after the new pump is in place, reconnecting the pump will also take time. He will be at the boat with pump on Thursday, the 16th!
